Finally here's the long awaited ScannerJOE's version of the Daft Punk Thomas' helmet.

The file is at [link] it includes pepakura, blender, and manual files.

This is not like any other papercraft as it introduces my new technique to build spheric surfaces using thick cardboard (around 2mm), WITHOUT USING MACHE.

This is the one shown at [link] and [link]

Enjoy it!

now i have a couple of questions- i want to make this helm, but without the leds- can i just build the basic outer-inner parts? without the display, blacklight etc? i want to leave the fron open.

Thank you and don't worry about english it's not my language either.

Answering your questions:

1. Sure you can build some parts.
2. It is regular spray paint in the end, but first i have applied two or three coats of water diluted white glue (50/50%) to the cardboard to make a shine effect.

Good luck!
And enjoy it.

thank you!
now i finally got the paper so i can start working on it :D
but i have a new problem- my head is bigger then yours, and when i scaled the model to my size some of the parts (the ear parts) are bigger then one page! i searched every where but couldnt find "double papers" for sale. w
what shoudl i do? should i just print it and then glue together this part into one part?
thank you so much for your help!

Well first of all it was made for my wife not for me :).

You'll have to work on pepakura to split the parts that don't fit in one page or you can print them in two pages activating the option to print alignment lines (Settings>Print and paper settings>Print alignment marks for multiple pages) so you can print a multipage pattern.

Is your choice, enjoy papercrafting!

In the 2D view right click and select "Join/disjoin face" or press Ctrl+N, then click over a join and it'll split, finally right click again and select "Select and move" to move the separated part.

Sure there are videos but they are too advanced for this task you want to know.
